Debunked is a paranormal mystery novel by Beth Perry. Craig Herbert is a young man haunted by the disappearance of his younger brother, Kristophe, who went missing three years ago. Now, Craig works as one of the executive producers for Gerald Agee's reality TV show The Debunker's Challenge, which exposes people claiming to be psychics or mediums. Craig travels to a small town in Tennessee to recruit Betty Ann Crawford, an Appalachian hill witch, for the show. However, Betty's cryptic message about his missing brother brings forth a series of visions that affect Craig's personal and professional life. After she arrives in the studio, Betty seamlessly passes each challenge set by the judges. Eager to see her downfall, Agee tries every trick he has up his sleeve. But secrets will be revealed that will turn Craig's life upside down.

Author Beth Perry gifts paranormal mystery lovers a gripping yarn that has you hooked until the very last page. Filled with suspense, intrigue, and a tinge of the supernatural, Debunked will take you by surprise with every carefully plotted twist and turn that has you wondering what's going to happen next. The pacing of the narrative is seamless, and the author provides backstories for each of the main characters that make you sympathize with their plight. Perry's characters are not only compelling but also very realistic. Craig's relationships with his friends and family were some of my favorite parts of the book. I also found Betty Ann to be a fascinating character. I don't think many readers will be able to predict the shocking reveal toward the end, if any. All in all, paranormal mystery readers are in for a treat with this one!
